Doses Recorded by Passive Dosimeters in Special Circumstances and the Badge Filter Influence on Dose Ranges

The response of the passive photodosimeter with halide film characterized by a high optical density of about 0.550 ± 0.007 was analysed on dose ranges, taking into consideration the filters of the dosimetric badge, and finally compared with the thermoluminescent dosimeter (TLD). In this respect the dosimeters were exposed to a Cs 137 calibration radioactive source at different points within (0.01 – 100) mSv dose range. The photodosimeter badge contains plastic, Al, Cu, and Pb filters and the TLD badge has plastic and Al filters. The lowest standard deviations regarding the film response repeatability from a photodosimeter to others over the (0.1–50) mSv and also, an increasing of optical density in the low dose range (0.1–0.3) mSv were obtained on the window image area. Good results for calculating doses over (0.2–30) mSv dose range on the D10 film under Plastic and Cu 1.00 mSv and over (20–100) mSv on D2 film under Pb 0.40 mm filter were also obtained.
